Julie Huff has done the impossible. She had neither a pen and paper or a phone to transcribe a joke she thought up upon waking at 4AM. She told herself she’d remember it in the morning and she actually did.
“The most surprising thing about this whole experience, besides remembering the joke, was that the joke is actually GOOD,” Huff remarked. “Usually when I write jokes in the middle of the night they don’t make any sense to anyone who’s not half asleep.”
Huff plans to try out the new bit at next Monday’s open mic night at PJ’s Sports Bar in Houston. She’s considering taking Ambien in the hopes that she’ll have parasomnia episodes filled with creative joke writing.
