2022 has been a pretty crummy year for me overall, but it’s been a year of growth and learning.
Financially, it’s been terrible for me, as I’ve lost ten’s of thousands of dollars in the Terra Luna collapse, Celsius, and Gemini Earn. And that’s not to mention that crypto and stock markets are way down in general.
Health-wise, I found out that I have Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, which is an autoimmune condition that attacks my thyroid. This condition has been making me feel progressively worse since at least 2016, and it got so bad that I HAD to rest at lunch and take a nap after I got home from work. But I’m finally what I think is the right dose of thyroid hormone, I’ve cut out gluten and most dairy, and my thyroid antibodies are starting to decrease. So I finally have energy to play with my cats, exercise, clean my house, and be creative.
Stand-up comedy has been ok. I’ve gone on some hot streaks and some cold streaks. I’ve written a lot of good material and produced a lot of great shows. I have a new venue at Stateline Brewery in Lake Tahoe for Dead Panda Comedy starting in January.
So what would I like to accomplish heading into 2023?
- Record an hour-long comedy album
- Get back into exercise and rock climbing
- Create lots of blogs, videos, and music
- Get more into acting and get some IMDB credits and paid gigs
- Invest and make great returns
- Be less stressed and more present
- Improve various skills such as comedy, guitar, Spanish, etc.
- Reduce fluff in my life that I don’t need like TV, video games, and scrolling social media
So that’s what I have going on. I’m glad to leave 2022 behind, and I am feeling optimistic because I seem to have turned a corner this last month. Assuming you’re reading this, I wish all the best in the new year to you as well!
